Resistance Spotlight: Flippable
Flippable believes Resistance starts in the states. We couldn't agree more. Which is why we love this new video they released on gerrymandering. In the chaos of the Trump era, it can be easy to overlook the root cause of our political problems: the GOP's takeover of state governments. This has allowed the GOP to redistrict the map in their favor, suppress voters, and take away our rights. We must involve ourselves in every level of elections - municipal, state, and national. Be sure to check out flippable.org to get involved in flipping our states blue.

Behind Closed Doors, the Senate is Trying to Pass TrumpCare
Republican senators are trying to pass the American Health Care Act—aka Trumpcare 2.0—before July 4th without a hearing.

This bill will deny an estimated 23 million Americans healthcare, cut $834 million in Medicaid spending, give tax breaks to the wealthy, and increase healthcare costs for low income earners.

We can call, we can write—but the most powerful message is showing up.

10 Senators in 9 states have been identified. They are as follows:
  • Senators Murkowski (Alaska): (202)-224-6665, Twitter @lisamurkowski
  • Senator Sullivan (Alaska): (202) 224-3004, Twitter @SenDanSullivan
  • Senator Flake (Arizona): (202) 224-4521, Twitter @JeffFlake
  • Senator Gardner (Colorado): (202) 224-5941, Twitter: @SenCoryGardner
  • Senator Cassidy (Louisiana): (202) 224-5824
  • Senator Collins (Maine): (202) 224-2523, Twitter: @SenatorCollins
  • Senator Heller (Nevada): (202) 224-6244
  • Senator Portman (Ohio): (202) 224-3353, Twitter: @senrobportman
  • Senator Toomey (Pennsylvania): (202) 224-4254, Twitter: @SenToomey
  • Senator Moore Capito (West Virginia): (202) 224-6472, Twitter: @SenCapito
RISE Stronger is calling on Resistance groups in the following nine states to pay these ten Senators a visit next Wednesday, June 21st.

You can find your Senator's office locations listed at Contacting Congress.

To coordinate action in your state and receive outreach and media support from RISE, please request to join the appropriate google group. Feel free to invite other like-minded groups as well.

To plan, visit Indivisible's “Stop Trumpcare in June: Action Plan." It's a tremendous resource for guiding office sit-ins—the most effective form of protest in this case—as well as calling and writing your senator, and your local newspaper.

To see other resistance groups we've reached out to for coordination, visit the United States of Resistance and look at the list in your state.

We cannot wait to take action. Let's join forces to save healthcare for millions of Americans—your state is critical to this fight.

Understanding Infrastructure: Fact Checking Trump
Let's take a second to fact check Trump's Infrastructure 'Plan'. He makes a lot of claims, but the reality is drastically different from the rhetoric. Here's why.

Recent Elections Spur Higher than Normal Turnout
This past week, Virginia and New Jersey had big races. In both states, democratic turnout was up dramatically from prior competitive primaries. In Virginia, over half a million Democrats voted, compared to 320,000 before. {Source}. In New Jersey, the turnout rate was 24-percent, a higher than average turnout compared to Democratic gubernatorial primaries in years past. {Source}.

Now we turn our sights to Georgia, where Jon Ossoff (D) and Karen Handel (R) face a runoff for a seat in the US House of Representatives. Election Day is June 20, however early voting is open with more than 100,000 people that have already cast their ballots. As we get closer to election day, stories about Georgia's lax protections against electoral fraud are forthcoming. Georgia is one of a handful of states that do not have a paper back up system, which typically exists to help prove if fraud occurs. They also have had issues recently with data being exposed. {Source}

It's going to be a close race. Current polls show the candidates tied or within mere percentage points of one another.
