Want to get more involved in the amazing work of RISE Stronger but wondering how? Here's a great place to start! We have incredible teams of volunteers working on bringing new tools and initiatives to the Resistance movement, and are specifically looking for help in the following areas.
United States of Resistance Mapping Project – Research and Data Entry:
- Description: RISE is expanding its United States of Resistance into an interactive directory. Why? Because we want to reach out to all the amazing Resistance groups out there in the states, and give them a key resource: the ability to find one another and connect based on the issues they care about the most, and their location. We need help collecting data through internet research on as many groups as possible, starting from a list of groups we have already identified and would like to reach out to, in order to include them in our interactive directory.
- Required skills / experience: none
- Required time commitment: 2-5 hours per week, starting next week. We're aiming to convene a call this coming Saturday May 6th to get started.
- Opportunity: Build organizing skills, work toward coordinated information sharing in your area, get to know the Resistance in your region

The People's Calendar - Quality Control
- Description: Calling all editors! We need your eagle eye to fix typos, remove duplicate events, improve event titles for clarity, and occasionally help with event approval.
- Required skills: Basic comfort with website interfaces, Facebook events
- Required experience: none needed
- Opportunity: Develop hard skills using web based interfaces, managing content for a website, while getting a birds eye view of Resistance activity nationwide, as well as hotspots and targets
- Required time commitment: Weekly commitment cumulatively about 2 hours per week, can be broken into smaller chunks daily

Communications - Graphic Designers:
- Description: We need creative and talented graphic designers who can translate policy language into designed images and infographics, as well as longer manuals and toolkits.
- Required skills: Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign. Will consider people with experience using Canva
- Required experience: If you have the skills, we'll help you with the experience!
- Opportunity: Get educated on a wide variety of policy issues; have the opportunity to provide social media images to a wide array of organizations.
- Required time commitment: Weekly commitment cumulatively 2-3 hours a week.

Communications - Social Media Gurus:
- Description: Do you know your way around social media? Have you used it strategically and to communicate with mass audiences for advocacy purposes? Let's chat.
- Required skills: Facebook Pages, Twitter, Instagram, Basic design skills
- Required experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience of strategic social media marketing and management; Even better if it is done in the nonprofit or policy arenas.
- Opportunity: Help develop a social media strategy; Communicate with policy makers and progressive, grassroots organizations around the country.
- Required time commitment: Commitment can range from 30 minutes to 2 hours; Ideally looking for someone who can check in over the course of the day on at least one channel.

Communications - Communication & Marketing Associates:
- Description: We are looking for individuals with communication and marketing expertise. Ideally, we would like to find individuals who know how to advocate, can translate complex policy issues into layperson language, and who can strategize around the most effective way to disseminate this content. We will consider working with individuals who have no policy experience but have marketing and communication experience.
- Required skills: Writing, editing, social media, marketing, policy
- Required experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience in nonprofit or government communication. Will consider those with experience in corporate communication.
- Opportunity: Help shape the way RISE influences policy at the municipal, state, and national level. Help mobilize tens of thousands of grassroots supporters by making it easy for them to understand the issues, and easy for them to act.
- Required time commitment: Cumulatively 6-8 hours per week.

Policy - Rise Stronger Policy Working Groups
- Description: The Rise Stronger Policy Working Groups help ensure that the broader resistance movement is informed, engaged and directed towards smart, strategic policy approaches and calls to action. As a member of a Policy Working Group, you'll be responsible for tracking developments on a set of issues within the policy area, contributing your expertise on relevant issues at the national, state and local levels, and helping develop products including weekly summaries, calls to action and toolkits that will encourage.
