Pantsuit Nation started as a “secret” Facebook group on October 20, 2016, with about thirty friends planning to wear pantsuits to the polls on Election Day. The emphasis on “going high” and a commitment to creating a troll-free space in which Clinton supporters could enthusiastically support their candidate struck a nerve. In the span of twenty-four hours, the group exploded to 24,000 members (new members could only be added by friends already within the group). Within a few weeks, group membership reached 3 million people.

We connect our members, many of whom are new to activism and political engagement, with calls to action that are focused and easy to navigate, while also providing the context of a story to highlight the urgency of the need.
