Freedom Uprising is a grassroots nationwide watchdog organization with the mission of preserving and strengthening American democracy. Freedom Uprising formed the weekend after the 2016 election with local individuals gathering in a living room and virtually via Facebook. Unlike other Southland Resistance subgroups who focus on local action, Freedom Uprising's Facebook page (which is reserved for sharing political actions) welcomes members from across the nation who may not have yet found their footing with a local organizing group or may need help starting their own.
