The Numbers. The Congressional Budget Office released its report on TrumpCare. The numbers were astonishing. 14 million Americans will lose insurance in the first year alone. In total, an estimated 52 million people would be uninsured by 2026 under the GOP plan, compared to 28 million who would lack insurance under the current law.

If you live in Alaska, Arizona, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Nevada, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, or West Virginia, we have in depth analysis of the impact the current Affordable Care Act has on your state. These are available here.

The Center for American Progress just released state by state numbers on what Americans will pay under TrumpCare vs. the Affordable Care Act.

THE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT, 'IN THEIR WORDS' SERIES.

Today, we launched the Affordable Care Act, “In their Words" series.

In 2010, with the signing of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), access to quality health insurance became a right, not a privilege. Virtually everyone has been touched by the ACA, whether directly through coverage or indirectly through its impact on the nation's health insurance system. Now, we want you to meet the people, and hear In Their Words, what the Affordable Care Act has done for them.

MUSLIM BAN 2.0 - A VICTORY!
This week, not one but two federal judges handed us a victory. On the eve of the implementation of Trump's Muslim Ban 2.0., a federal judge in Hawaii issued a nationwide order blocking the ban on travel. This Temporary Restraining Order (TRO) is a nationwide stay on the ban.

Just yesterday, a second federal judge in Maryland ruled against Trump's ban, forbidding the travel ban from going into effect. Read more.

AND THEN THERE WERE NONE.
Turns out, it's entirely possible to slash every major service and program from the Federal Budget. That's pretty much what happened yesterday when Trump released his 2018 proposed budget, which covers discretionary spending only. More on that here.

The budget requests an additional $52 billion for the Department of Defense and $2.8 billion for the Department of Homeland Security.

Yet it manages to cut funding from critical programs that support low-income Americans and the elderly, the sciences and arts, education, public broadcasting, and much more. According to the Economist, "the Department of Health and Human Services would be cut by $13 billion or 16%, the State Department would lose $11 billion or 29% and the Department of Education would see its funding fall $9 billion or 14%. The Environmental Protection Agency, widely expected to face the steepest cuts under the Trump administration, would be reduced by a whopping 31%, eliminating 50 programs and 3,200 jobs."

ARE YOU A WOMAN AND READY TO RUN?
If so, you're not alone. Women across the country are turning out in high numbers, ready to don their policy hats and get to work. Check out this story in the Washington Post.
