Hello RISE Stronger community! We are at an important stage in the growth of RISE Stronger. Our new website is up and running, and our tools like the People's Calendar and United States of Resistance map continue to improve. As our work evolves, we're discovering new ways to make our work more productive. Toward that end, we've decided to migrate the RISE Stronger Slack community to a messaging and project space called Basecamp. Basecamp offers significant advantages over Slack, including being much easier and more intuitive to use, as well as a better tool for project management, oversight and delivery. A number of RISE groups have already moved over or are in the process of changing, and we are finding it a very helpful and productive way to engage with each other on a range of projects.

As an active Slack user, we'd like to invite you to join us as an active member of the RISE Stronger community! There are many ways to get involved in specific projects:

1) First, make sure you have a RISE Stronger website account to get access to the full menu of benefits and tools: https://RISEstronger.org/sign_up

2) Check out specific volunteer positions below and click on each link to see more information and apply directly from each page. We'll add you to the Basecamp project space for the appropriate team, such as Communications, Calendar, the United States of Resistance mapping, etc. The most updated list of volunteer positions is always on the website here: https://RISEstronger.org/volunteer

3) Join a Policy Working Group: Do you have experience or expertise in a particular policy area? RISE Stronger is always looking for experts who can track the latest policy developments, analyze and predict trends, formulate strategy, and prepare "Calls to Action" for the broader resistance. If policy is your cup of tea, please send an email with the name of your policy area in the subject line to [email protected] Please include a link to your LinkedIn profile if you have one.

If you are interested in following or participating in discussions for each policy topic in a more public forum, we want to encourage you to go to https://RISEstronger.org/policy, click the area you're interested in, and click "join"- this will give you access to the message boards for each topic, once they are launched. Look for that feature on the website in about a month!

4) Join a State Chapter: Want to help build regional coalitions and work on local, regional and state issues with fellow resisters? Our State Chapters approach the work of civic and political engagement from the ground up, working toward practical solutions to real problems. You can shape the agenda for your state by joining the Basecamp team for your state's RISE chapter. Send an email to [email protected], and to your state's two letter initials @RISEstronger.org , such as [email protected], expressing your interest.

Our revamped website is still brand new; we are improving it every day and adding new functionality. We hope to have website message boards for each tool, project, and team online by early July. The message boards will be available to website account holders and will replace many of the "public channels" in Slack.

However, most of the real work of RISE Stronger will be taking place on Basecamp, and we'd love to have you join us! After we receive your email for the specific volunteer position, policy working group, or state chapter team you want to join, we'll add you to the relevant Basecamp project. You'll be notified through your email, and receive links to a basic Basecamp orientation.
