The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has proposed new rules to monitor the social media of all immigrants to the U.S. Under the new rules, DHS will include "social media handles and aliases, associated identifiable information and search results" in the department's immigrant files. In other words, DHS wants to collect social media information on all immigrants, including permanent residents and naturalized citizens.

This rule will go into effect October 18 after a public comment period. You can submit a comment by clicking here. Tell DHS that this rule should not go into effect.
